Mingin feet

Yesterday while I was waiting in the ASDA pharmacy for my prescription, I saw the most distressing sight I've ever seen. Now given that I was (and still am) feeling piss poor, the last thing I needed to see in my condition was...

THE MANKIEST, SKANKIEST, MINGIN FEET EVER!!!

This girl and her mum and 2 kids came up to the counter. The girl was around my age, maybe a couple of years younger. She was a bit on the chunky side (not that I can talk) and was dressed in cropped jeans with black flip flops. Sounds ok I hear you ask...well it WASN'T.

As she was a bit larger, her feet were also a bit larger (unlike mine!). They were like huge bulbous pig trotters with squinty toenails. Gross. And as if that wasn't bad enough, I don't think she'd washed her feet in a week! They were manky, dirt between her toes and across her foot and toenails that would make you vomit.

WHY-OH-WHY??? If she couldn't be arsed washing her feet that day, or indeed that week, then why did she insist on wearing "look at my feet" cropped trousers and "aren't my feet beautiful" black flip flops?

What's the world coming to I ask. This whole ordeal hasn't helped my recovery one bit!

I NEED SYMPATHY!

Just a quick post tonight as I'm currently on my sick bed with a killer dose of tonsilitis. This has been the 4th time since November I've had it and it's getting worse every time. My temperature was up to 39.7˚ yesterday but has gone down a bit now probably due the masses of paracetamol I've consumed. Saw the emergency doctor today and now have some much needed antibiotics so hopefully they'll kick in soon.

And as if my suffering isn't enough, the doctor said I have to see my own doctor to be referred to the hospital to have them out! AT MY AGE!!!!!!! Although having done some research seems I should have had them out when I was about 7, ah well that's the NHS for you. Let's hope the Norwegian health service fares a little better!

So if anyone is reading this I NEED SYMPATHY! If you know me then flowers or chocolates to the house will be lovely and if you don't know me then a post will be fine.

Boo hoo :(

Phew, where do I start?

Hi everybody, it's been ages since my last post because I've just been so busy so I'm gonna try and condense everything into 1 post.

Ok here goes...

After Heather finished school for the holidays I took her and Hamish to Edinburgh zoo which was great fun. The weather was nice, warm but not too warm with some light cloud so nice walking weather. The kids loved it although half of the animals were hiding in the long grass in their enclosures! However we did see lions, deer, monkeys, gibbons, sealions and penguins. We even saw the penguin parade which was great.

Last Wednesday me and Julie went to Live8 at Murrayfield which was absolutely brilliant. Unfortunately it rained HEAVILY but we had seats so we were ok. Our seats were really good, they were directly facing the stage. All the artists were great but I think my personal favourite was Snow Patrol. Travis were good too as was Annie Lennox and of course, James Brown! The show was due to finish at 10pm but went on until 12.30!!! Loads of people were there performing:

Proclaimers, McFly, Ronan Keating, Annie Lennox, Youssou N'Dour and Neneh Cherry, Will Young, James Brown. Sugababes, Beverly Knight, Snow Patrol, Travis, Texas, The Corrs, Bob Geldof, Bono, Midge Ure, Eddie Izzard, Lenny Henry, Peter Kay, Davina McCall, Chris Evans, Natasha Beddingfield, Jamie Culum and more...

On Thursday James, Julie and baby Kory came to visit en route from Darlington. It was great to see them and Kory whom I've never met before. Unfortunately my 2 weren't here! Hamish was at nursery and Heather was swimming with my mum and Charlotte.

Alan came home on Friday for the weekend. On Saturday we bought new mountain bikes for all of us. Alan got a Scott, I got a Giant and Heather got a Raleigh. We even bought a baby trailer for Hamish. We decided to buy the bikes here and take them with us as they're double the price in Norway! The weather has been seriously hot over the weekend so it was nice just spending time together in the sun.

Alan's parents came over on Saturday night for a meal. His brother Douglas, Lindsey and Abby came too. We got an Indian take-away and sat in the dining room with the french doors open. The kids just played while we got quietly drunk. It was very nice.

Alan headed home today which is sad but he'll be back again a week on Wednesday to help with the removal men! AHHHHH. Another scorcher today so I'm off to sun myself in the garden. Byeeeeee.
