Holiday weekend comes to an end

It's been a really busy weekend. Hamish was at nursery on Friday so me and Heather had a girlie day. I took her swimming in the morning in Falkirk which was great as the schools there weren't off which meant the pool was quiet (apart from the usual spattering of toddlers and pensioners). Then we went into Falkirk to get Heather a new pair of trainers. Headed back to Glasgow and had coffee at my mum's before collecting Hamish from nursery at 5. Phew...

Saturday morning, Heather had her dancing then a party at 12. It was the wee girl Beth across the road. Hamish and I nipped up the road to see my brother and sister-in-law's new house along the road. They haven't moved in yet, just getting carpets, etc (it's a brand new house). Got back and waited for Heather to come home from the party. She finally wandered in at 7pm!!!

My mum invited herself, my dad and my sister Wendy and family for dinner on Sunday because I had the most room. I babysat my niece Abby (niece on Alan's side) while they had their new flooring laid. Then the gang came round for Sunday dinner. It was great to get us all together, especially my dad. He's doing much better now and is only walking with a stick.

Just as the evening was drawing to a close and we're putting the dishes away, Hamish decided to fall out the back door and hit his head on the concrete step. He smacked the bridge of his nose and forehead poor little sausage. We managed to get some frozen peas on it quickly to reduce the bruising which seemed to work.

Weather was lovely today so we went over to my sister's for lunch with her friend Aileen and her wee boy Zack. Got home at teatime then the kilt man came round to measure Hamish for a kilt for my cousin's wedding in June. Then got Heather sorted for her school trip to Deep Sea World tomorrow.

In all it's been a busy weekend. Going to do some ironing then going to bed. Night night. xxx

Just had to say...

...how good is the new song by New Order and Animatronic! It totally rocks. New Order used to be good back in the day when Blue Monday and Bizarre Love Triangle were hits but then they went quiet after True Faith. Well they went a bit poo actually, really boring. But now, they've gone back to their old style. YAY.

I mean let's face it, if it wasn't for New Order, there'd be no Killers, Franz Ferdinand, The Bravery, etc etc etc.

Just had to share that with you all.

Caught red handed!

Hamish the water feature

Hamish was out playing in the garden with Heather this afternoon and when I went out to check on him I was horrified when I saw him standing IN the pond playing with the fountain! He was absolutely soaking from head to toe but as you can see from the photo, he was having great fun!

He's a total nightmare sometimes. Heather was never this much work. He's a lovable little guy though!

Just had to post this picture of Hamish looking very cute. He has that expression of 'butter wouldn't melt' but we all know different! I had to sign another incident form at the nursery as Hamish has been biting the other kids again.

Anyway who do you think he looks like?

We're all made of stars

Went to see Moby last night with my sister. He was f**king brilliant. Soooooo much better than the last tour. This time he played a smaller venue and played more rock, bass, dance stuff. No plinky plonky stuff this time, more dance/rave stuff. I think he was appealing to the old school ravers from the early nineties. Brilliant!!!

They even did a few covers like Joy Division, New Order, Led Zepplin and The Doors (Scottish style!!!). All that together with a homage to standing in a field at 9am with some faded light sticks and whistles (James - you'll relate to this!!!).

It was quite funny though because all through the later stuff, all the 20 year olds were bopping about thinking they're so cool but when the REAL Moby came alive with the classic track 'Go' the little uns were totally baffled!!! I really felt my age then.

Anyway, Wendy and I had a right good dance and sweated buckets. The sign of a good concert me thinks. Buy the album - it's fab. Even better, go and see him live!

Ray Charles Lives!

How cool does the wee man look??? He got these shades in Bergen last week and he seems to like wearing them. It causes a bit of a problem indoors as they're really dark and he tends to bump into things. But then again, I'm sure Victoria Beckham has that problem frequently!!!

I'm back!!!

Hi there all. Just got back from Bergen last night. Flights were ok just really stressful travelling alone with 2 kids and a pushchair - NIGHTMARE!!!

We all had an amazinf time in Bergen. It's just sooooo chilled. Everyone is really friendly (and they all speak english). It's also really child friendly, I've never seen some many prams in one place in my life. I think it's got something to do with the amazing maternity leave you get. Something like 18 months full pay. And the father can take it instead of the mother on the same pay!!! Hence the masses of babies in Norway!

It was great to see Alan again. It's tough being away so much. I've posted a rare pic of us all together just to prove that he does exist as I'm sure some of you are doubtful. The top 2 pictures were the views from our hotel onto the harbour. My mum thinks it looks like Balamory! The other pics were taken at the top of the hill looking over Bergen. You get the very scary fløbanen to the top. Good day out for the kids though.

There's just too much to tell suffice to say that I'm really looking forward to moving at the end of July. We've got a house, Heather's got a place at the International School. All that's left is for us to buy a left hand drive car and pack up.

Will keep you posted on dates, etc.
